CA Transportation Plan 2040
The California Department of Transportation has opened up the Public Review Period for the California Transportation Plan (CTP 2040). This public comment period ends March 29th, 2016 at 5:00PM Pacific Time.
Executive Director Change and Upcoming Events
Dear Members of the California Short Line Railroad Association,
The Board of Directors would like to announce that the CSLRA will be continuing 2016 without the services of our longtime Executive Director, Jalene Forbis. Jalene has been with the organization nearly as long as it has existed, and was instrumental in building it to be the powerful grassroots voice of the short line industry. We thank Jalene for all of her work on behalf of the CSLRA and wish her well in her future endeavors.
We are looking forward to continuing in the footsteps that have been long established within the Association. Our annual Lobby Day is coming up on April 13, 2016 followed by our Annual Meeting on July 18th and 19th in sunny San Diego and our Fall Train Ride on November 10th and 11th. This year’s train ride is once again sponsored by the Union Pacific and we will be heading back to Reno over picturesque Donner Pass.
Prior to our Lobby Day meeting in Sacramento, the Board of Directors will be meeting to discuss potential new paths for the leadership of the Association. I would encourage each of you to share your ideas with the Board prior to the meeting. The Board of Directors truly appreciates the support of our Railroad and Associate members and will continue to build the CSLRA to meet the ever changing needs of our industry.
