Railroads Applaud Bipartisan Infrastructure Vote, Urge House to Follow Senate’s Lead

On August 10, 2021, the Senate voted on a bipartisan basis to advance vital legislation to modernize the nation’s public infrastructure and empower economic growth into the future. The Infrastructure Investment and Jobs Act includes a full five-year surface transportation reauthorization, which was the product of thoughtful, consensus-based negotiations in the Senate Commerce and Environment and Public Works (EPW) Committees.

Open Now: Solicitation for Combustion Freight and Marine Grant Funding in California

The California Air Resources Board (CARB) is pleased to announce that up to $26 million in Volkswagen Environmental Mitigation Trust funding available to entities throughout California for Combustion Freight and Marine Projects. The funding is now available statewide on a first-come, first-served basis for the following project categories:

  • Replace/repower Class 7 and 8 freight trucks, drayage trucks, dump trucks, waste haulers, and concrete mixers;
  • Replace/repower freight switcher locomotives; and
  • Repower ferries, tugboats, and towboats.
