2019 CSLRA Fall Train Trip!
This year we will be on a new route, Los Angeles (probably Burbank) to San Luis Obispo and return. Details are still in work but we anticipate that our Union Pacific business car special will depart mid-morning on Wednesday October 16 and reach SLO in mid-afternoon, with lunch en route. We will overnight in SLO and have an early departure back to Los Angeles on Thursday October 17 with breakfast on the train and a mid-day arrival back in Los Angeles. Hotel room arrangements in SLO will be announced as soon as they are confirmed. As with past fall train trips, guests may ride both ways or one way in either direction. Save the dates and plan on attending CSLRA’s premier networking event of the year! We greatly appreciate Union Pacific’s efforts to find a spot in the schedule for CSLRA amid high demand for business car assets during the 150th anniversary of the transcontinental railroad.
CSLRA 2019 Annual Meeting July 23 – 24
- CSLRA’s next Annual Meeting will be held at the Westin Hotel in San Diego July 23 – 24, 2019.
- Plan now to attend this informative event which aside from the annual business of the Association will provide great networking opportunities and a variety of presentations on topics of interest. The meeting agenda will include timely technical presentations from the FRA, an overview of wildfire risks for short lines in California, a session on management of fatigue/sleep disorders for railroad/contractor employees, and an update from the Short Line Safety Institute. The meeting will conclude with optional golf or sailing on beautiful San Diego Bay.
