Membership in the CSLRA Board of Directors has changed. In June 2020, Nick Kendall resigned from Republic Services/San Francisco Bay Railway and he resigned from the CSLRA Board of Directors effective July 1, 2020. As provided in the CSLRA Bylaws, effective November 12th, the Board of Directors has appointed Jake Harrison, General Manager of the California Northern Railroad, to fill the vacant position until the next Board Member and Association Officer election which will be held at the July 2021 Annual Meeting in San Diego. The Board thanks Nick Kendall for his service to the Association and welcomes Jake Harrison to his new role as a Board Member.
RFP for Rail Operations on the Santa Paula Branch
The Ventura County Transportation Commission (VCTC) is the designated Regional Transportation Planning Agency for Ventura County. The VCTC has recently posted an RFP for an operator for the Santa Paula Branch. The services being solicited are any combination of a potential excursion operation, movie train operations and other movie support activities, freight rail operation consistent with the terms of agreement with Union Pacific as may be modified in the future, and maintenance of the infrastructure to support any proposed operations and meet contractual and regulatory obligations as enumerated in this RFP and supporting documents.

2020 Fall Train Ride Cancelled
Because of the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic and associated health regulations, we will unfortunately be unable to hold our annual Fall Train Ride in 2020. We anticipate resuming this annual event in 2021.
